Re: mad hatters village
Dragonmark felt like a mishmash of Son of No One and Dragonbane with Illarion's story thrown in! But I did like Illarion and Edilyn!
All of Kenyon's heroes have been abused somehow, that will never change. I haven't read her other series.

Re: mad hatters village
J.D. Robb's Apprentice in Death comes out 9/6/16! I requested it at my library because they always get this series! I've read it from the beginning! In fact, I can remember getting the first book from the used book store! I came in often enough that the woman there would save books for me! They were located in the old Bethpage Farmer's Market and also had a storefront on Sunrise Hwy in N. Bellmore. Both those locations closed and they moved to a small store in that strip of stores by OTB in Levittown on Hempstead Tpke.
I didn't care for Harrison's The Drafter.
My taste has changed somewhat, I'm more into fantasy than romance. And it has to be paranormal romance, not bikers or anything like that!

Re: mad hatters village
TAKE A couple of days and enjoy the end of summer,
start looking for a new job in september,
enjoy these last days of august, catch up on some reading...................
Re: mad hatters village
Thanks, I probably will do that! I have Sammy Tuesday and Thursday because DD has to go in for meetings before school starts! And then Wednesday, I'm going to lunch with a few women from work. We're going to a Columbian restaurant near PC Richards in Levittown! I've never had Columbian cuisine before so I hope I enjoy it!Admin wrote:

Re: mad hatters village
I feel that Robb is trying to be funny by dumbing down Eve in some of the later books! What you posted is funny! But sometimes I don't find it funny but sad that she's doing this to Eve!

Re: mad hatters village
Good morning! Well we're not eating Columbian, we're going for Mexican because one woman is a vegetarian and there wasn't a vegetarian meal listed on the Columbian menu. This woman blames herself for me quitting because she told me to sign up for unemployment because of lack of hours! I don't blame her and told her that I would have quit at some point anyway! I also had asked if she had to look for employment because the site said you had to! She told me that she was never asked to go to these meetings and she thought our mgr had no idea she applied for unemployment! Well, as you know, I got yelled at by the mgr as soon as I applied and now I got a letter telling me it is mandatory that I attend an employment meeting! Just my luck! I did call about the meeting, told them I wasn't going to it because I never received any $$ from unemployment and had quit the job and since I didn't get a call back, I guess everything's ok on their end! Anyhoo, I'll tell my former coworker about the employment meeting letter.

Re: mad hatters village
interesting, when my mom filed for unemployment she had to carry around this form, and fill it out and prove that she 3 applied for 3 jobs a month to keep getting unemployment but that was a long time ago.
Do you have a college degree? you could substitute for the levittown schools or island trees etc all
i think they get 100 a day,
it's an oncall thing,
any plans for labor day?
we were supposed to go to this ceremony, "battle of the capes" on saturday but we have a slight TROPICAL STORM coming through,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, so it's iffy right now
oh and the ceremony is on THE WATER

Re: mad hatters village
I have a BA in Accounting but I've been told that my education is too out of date, I got it just when things were changing to computers. I also know how to do ADP payroll but again that was before computers. I don't think I'd want to be a substitute teacher, I remember too well how they were treated by the kids!
I did get a call back about the employment meeting, I don't have to attend. When I told my coworker about the letter, she said that it's strange that she hasn't received anything!

how was the mexican resturant?
i used to love chi chi's but they are not around any more.
Re: mad hatters village
We went to Mangoes in Bethpage! I got the chili rellenos - green peppers stuffed with cheese! Very tasty! Since the other women were paying, I didn't want to overdo it. We had an appetizer of fried eggplant stuffed with ricotta cheese and shared a raspberry sorbet bombe for dessert.
My hubby isn't big on Mexican so we rarely eat it.

WE LOVE chicken chimichangas, at least 1 month a month,
one thing i love about virginia is that ALL PIZZA places deliver,
and all chinese places deliver
i wish the mexican would too, but not yet, they need to, but we have 4 in a 2 mile radius so it's not that far,
just some times i'd rather not go out in the rain, KOODOS TO DELIVERY DRIVERS they are great!
glad you had a good lunch,
we really lucked out with this hermine, it wasn't all that bad,
Re: mad hatters village
Good to hear that! We're being told that Hermine will stall off the Jersey shore, giving us rain and wind for a few days!Admin wrote:DebraC wrote:We went to Mangoes in Bethpage!
